How many people die of preventable deaths every year? For example, those that die from a preventable better allocation of food, shelter, water, etc. or those that die from a upgrade or renewal of materials that have expired like the chains on as a plane or the bolts in an elevator, etc.

In college one day, I was playing tennis with Omar, the head of the data, science masters, and a mathematician professor Gerald cornuejols, and I was very high. I came to the session with the intention to be social and play casually. However, they did not share the same opinion. My opponents took advantage of the fact that I was in playing super fervently, and as a result, we were down a pretty significant deficit 3-0 or 3-1 with them to serve. All of a sudden a certain grit appeared within me. It came out of a tearful, but honest passion. Similar to the lash out that Jacob, Gruza had when we did psychedelics on Beeler Street. it was primordial. A sense of passionate obligation to deliver and all of a sudden with power my back turned to the wall. I lashed out in the game and we were on the verge of tired at five Sets. The lesson I learned, though, is that you can put in 1000% of the effort, but when the moment comes, and the moment will come, it may be up to the hands of someone else, or your teammate. When my teammate, Omar just barely missed the court with an easy shot that could’ve tipped the momentum into our favor, he was devastated, and I was too. However, when he turned to me to apologize for that moment, and then again, after the game, I humbly said oh, it doesn’t matter. I’m over it. and since then I have felt a certain peace and resolve about taking a moral highroad on the way I was exploited, had the potential to overcome the opponents, and when my teammate couldn’t deliver, still feel like I had a victory.

It is now clear to me, how daunting the struggle of life is. It’s a grueling, brumous, unforgiving fight. Sink or swim, every day is what you make of it. There is no clear path, you forge it yourself, uncertain which next step may hit a landmine or goldmine. Nonetheless we push forward. Conscious, acutely aware, occasionally reflecting on one’s path so far and the orientation for the next stage. But it’ll never get easier – only lonelier. Surround yourself with the people you can trust and will help you get back on your feet – as you’d do for them.

Thinking is inherently logical. The verification of the logic comes through the process of validating its True-ness with reality. The way to do this is through communication of a picture, verbal, written or other. However, language is flawed, although you may think you’re communicating the Truth, others can interpret something else.

Empirical verification looks for the causal relationship behind something. Why does water boil? Because heat caused it so. Why did you fall down the stairs? Because I pushed you. But the cause is not the meaning. It is not the True reason an event happened. Wittgenstein example: I take you, cook you in an over at 2000 degrees, and a few hours later I take you out. A pile of ashes in a bucket. I have. In my bucket. Reduced to the essential parts. But you can’t reduce to parts and retain same meaning.

This moment is the only moment in your life that is … your life. This is the only moment that stands a chance of being real. Everything else is just something you’re thinking about. We must resolve to fully connect here… now.

"The ego-climber is like an instrument that's out of adjustment. He puts his foot down an instant too soon or too late. He's likely to miss a beautiful passage of sunlight through the trees. He goes on when the sloppiness of his step shows he's tired. He rests at odd times. He looks up the trail trying to see what's ahead even when he knows what's ahead because he just looked a second before. He goes too fast or too slow for the conditions and when he talks his talk is forever about somewhere else, something else. He's here but he's not here. He rejects the here, is unhappy with it, wants to be farther up the trail but when he gets there will be just as unhappy because then it will be "here." What he's looking for, what he wants, is all around him, but he doesn't want that because it's all around him. Every step's an effort, both physically and spiritually, because he imagines his goal to be external and distant." Robert M. Pirsig

Neil Postman once pointed out that the invention of the mechanical clock had defeated the all encompassing supremacy of god more than any enlightenment thinker, as the clock turned us from time keepers, to time savers, to time servants. The clock introduced a new reality of the world as a system of abstract mathematical units that one could observe from a distance, where entirely new manners of human thought were able to develop, as humans no longer had to rely entirely on the seasons, weather patterns, and the position of the sun itself to arrange their social and political institutions.

The creative act is not an act of creation in the sense of the Old Testament. Many people give up on learning after they leave school bc 13 or 20 years of extrinsically motivated education is still a source of unpleasant memories. They're attention has been manipulated long enough from the outside by textbooks and teachers, & they have counted graduation as the first day of freedom. But a person who forgoes the use of his learning skills is never really free. His thinking will continue to be directed by the opinions of his neighbors, by the editorials in the papers, and by the appeals of television. He will continue to be at the mercy of "experts" telling (teaching) him what tothink. Ideally, [long] before the end of formal education should be the start of an education that is motivated intrinsically. At that point the goal of studying is no longer to make the grade, earn a diploma, or to find a good job. Rather, it is to understand what is happening around one, to develop a personally meaningful sense of what one's experience is all about.
Yet, instead of facilitating a growth mindset and treating the trauma of conformity, schools are viewed by children as prisons: teachers shout at them like they're correctional officers, principals discipline like wardens. And we threaten these children with these trauma disorders and say "do this and we'll suspend you", "do this and we'll expel you". And so of course when they are 8-15 and they are offered a drug to soothe noise and feel better, of course they'll take it. When approached by [friendly] gangs who offer safety and protection, who also share the same ideals and goals, of course they'll join their in-group. A group of dropouts who encourage anger and resentment against govt structured programs. We don't put crimes in prison. We put people in prison. People are not crimes, they can commit crime, but they're not all crimes. And so prisons have to deal with the parts of them that are not crimes.
As we grow up We remember All the time we Had together And as our lives change Come whatever We will still be Friends forever
